Diversity
The Diversity Committee is a collaborative effort between faculty and residents to ensure a diverse, welcoming, and safe environment for all of our residents. We work to promote and celebrate the religious, cultural, and personal differences that make our residents special and unique members of our team. As a program we discussed improving diversity because each one of us has a unique perspective about others as pre-determined by our unique life experiences shaded by our gender, race, ethnicity, and place and era of origin. Each one of us may see ourselves as the centers of our perceived universes but having a diverse environment can help us acknowledge and respect each other's perspectives even without completely understanding why others may see themselves as the centers of their perceived universes.
