Wayne State University School of Medicine

WSU/DMC Med-Peds

The combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med-Peds) program was one of the first established in the United States, and has been in existence for about 20 years. Wayne State University has produced more residents in this field than any other medical school in the nation. Our residents train at hospitals of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC).

One of our current program directors, Dr. Eric Ayers, was recently the president of the Med-Peds Program Directors Association; while Dr. Howard Schubiner, former program director, is known nation-wide as one of the “founding fathers.”
