Parent Programs
The departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics support excellent university-based training programs with over 80 residents each.
The Internal Medicine residency program provides invaluable opportunities for research and the Department of Internal Medicine has several nationally recognized subspecialty departments, including Pulmonary/Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, and Hematology/Oncology.
The Pediatrics residency program is the largest in the state of Michigan and the third largest recipient of Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education in the country. Children's Hospital of Michigan is the main tertiary referral center for all of southeast Michigan, one of the largest and most populous metro areas in the United States.
